NPP Polls: JFK dethrones John Boadu as General Secretary

The CEO of the Youth Employment Agency, Justin Frimpong Kodua, has dethroned the incumbent General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu in the just-ended Annual National Delegates Conference of the elephant family.

Kodua who is affectionately called JFK, polled 2,857 votes to beat Mr. John Boadu (JB) who obtained 2,524 votes out of the total 5,556 votes cast in the contest which also saw one of the experienced politicians in contemporary parliamentary democracy, Fredrick Opare Ansah, performing abysmally.

The other contestants, Iddrisu Musah, polled 104, Ramseyer Ahmed Agyeman-Prempeh scored 8 votes while the former NPP MP for Suhum constituency, Frederick Opare Ansah obtained 50 votes.

Charles Cromwell N. O. Bissue, who had earlier pulled out of the race scored polled 12 votes.

Ahead of the Polls on Saturday, an influential member of the party and nephew of President Akufo-Addo, Gabby Otchere-Darko had projected victory for the incumbent General Secretary John Boadu.

Alas, that was not the case as JFK leapfrogged his senior at Opoku Ware School to win the contest.
