Rejected 2022 Budget: Absolutely unconstitutional; decision not binding on Parliament – Majority Caucus

The ruling by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, rejecting the motion for the approval of the 2022 Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the government has been described by the Majority Caucus as unconstitutional, illegal and void.

The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abdu Jinapor, has told Ghanaians to continue keeping faith in President Akufo-Addo and his government as the 2022 Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the government offers the country hope after years of economic hardships in the hands of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and that of the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Two robbers arrested, one shot dead

The Police have arrested two persons in the Upper West Region for allegedly robbing and injuring two victims.

The suspects, Musdeen Issahaku and Alhassan Musah who were part of a team of four on a robbery spree on Saturday dawn, November 13, 2021, in the Wa West District of the Upper West Region, stabbed two of their victims who are responding to treatment at the hospital.

Another suspect, Osman Seidu while attacking some residents at Poyentanga with a weapon was shot dead.

A statement signed and issued I Accra by the Director-General, Public Affairs of the Ghana Police, ACOP Kwesi Ofori, said there is a manhunt for the fourth suspect who escaped arrest and therefore appealed to residents in the Wa West District and its environs “to be on the lookout and report any badly wounded person for Police action”.

Suspect Musdeen Issahaku, according to the Police, is an ex-convict who is standing trial in another armed robbery case at Wa Circuit Court, where he is on court bail.

Having succeeded in their operations, the Police have commended residents of Poyentanga and Samanbo for collaborating with them to arrest the suspects.

“Indeed, Police-community partnership is the master key for crime-fighting and we continue to urge the public to work with the Police in this regard”, the statement concluded.

No admission for 499 law students: NDC MPs want AG Godfred Dame kicked out

Members of Parliament (MPs) belonging to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are in the process of filing a motion calling for a Vote of Censure on the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, for failing to comply with a resolution passed by Parliament regarding to the controversial no admission for the 499 students into the Ghana School of Law.

The Akumase Clan of Kpetoe, led by its Paramount Stool Father, Zikpuitor Hayford Kwame Wayo, has enstooled a 45 year old educationist, Mr. Wisdom Lord Atsu Keteku, as the new Konor (Paramount Chief) for the Agotime Traditional Area under the stool name, Nene Nuer Keteku IV.
