You have 10 days to probe Ejura disturbances – Akufo-Addo to Interior Minister

The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, had instructed the Minister for the Interior, Ambrose Dery, to conduct, forthwith, a public inquiry into the circumstances that led to the unfortunate occurrences of Tuesday, June 29, 2021.

Per the directive, the Interior Minister is to provide a detailed report from the inquiry, with recommendations for appropriate action, within ten days.

The directive was issued in Accra on Wednesday, 30, 2021. That means that Mr. Dery has up to July 9, 2021, to submit his report to the Commander-In-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces.

A statement released by the Ag. Director of Communications, Office of the President, Eugene Arhin, says the President is deeply saddened by the deaths of Ibrahim Mohammed, alias ‘Kaaka’, Abdul Nasir Yussif and Mutala Mohammed and extends his sincere condolences to the families of the deceased while also wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
