Chief of Staff halts demolition of CSIR bungalows – Frimpong Boateng reveals

The Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Prof. Frimpong Boateng, has asked agitating CSIR management and staff to remain calm over sale of their lands to a private developer.

The staff and management physically halted a demolition exercise by a private developer of some bungalows located at Labone here in Accra.

They later followed up with a protest last week against the move by government to sell their land.

The issue is now receiving the attention of the Chief of Staff, Frema Opare-Osei, and will be resolved, according to Prof. Frimpong Boateng.

He made this revelation when he appeared before the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament to answer to questions relating to the 2017 Auditor-General’s Report on Public Boards.

Commenting further, Prof. Frimpong Boateng said the matter is also being looked into by the sector ministers of Lands and Works and Housing.
