Takoradi: Family invokes curses on W/R Minister for lying about their daughter

The Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Otchere Darko Mensah, has come under heavy criticisms from family of the ‘missing’ but found pregnant woman for lying about their daughter, Josephine Panyin Mensah.

The Minister had announced to the public that Josephine Panyin Mensah was not pregnant ostensibly at the time she was alleged to have been missing, a claim the family has rejected.

According to the family, Josephine was heavily pregnant at the time of her disappearance and therefore beats their imagination that she was without her pregnancy at the time she was found.

Josephine was found on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at the garden of the Jehovah Witnesses Church at Tolanu, a suburb of Axim in the Western Region.

Mr. Otchere Darko Mensah had alleged on a public radio that Josephine had no medical records of being pregnant.

A police report based on advice from medical experts at the Axim Government Hospital has confirmed this claim.

However, the Minister’s claim has been challenged by some residents and family members of Josephine, including her husband, Michael Simmons.

Some family members of Josephine were on Thursday, September 23, 2021, seen with eggs and Schnapps invoking curses on the Western Regional Minister, assuring that they will add more if medical records of Josephine prove that she was indeed pregnant.

To them, the Regional Minister should have cross-checked his facts well before going public on the matter.

At least, he should have sent his errand boys or even the Assembly member of the area to verify before going on air with a counter statement, the family noted.
