A man has butchered his wife to death at Assin Gyina Wobode Koforidua in the Assin South District of the Central Region.
He is believed to be in his late 30s and has since been identified only as Kwabena, a local name given to males born on Tuesdays in the country.
Kwabena after killing his wife attempted committing suicide by cutting his throat, some locals familiar with the situation told Politicoghana.com.
Source say, Kwabena is currently battling with his life.
The cause of the incident is immediately not known.
However, some residents say the husband and wife had a little misunderstanding between, resulting in former’s action.
The two are known farmers in the community.
The Assin Fosu Divisional Police Command have since confirmed the incident and conveyed the body to the St. Francis Xavier Hospital for preservation and autopsy.
The suspect is also receiving treatment at the same hospital.
The Police Command have since commenced investigations into the matter.
