A collaboration between the Police and the Military Police has led to the arrest of Flt. Sergeant Nicholas Owusu Frimpong, in connection with the discharge of a firearm at A&C Mall, East Legon, on Friday, December 31, 2021.
A Police statement announcing the arrest of the suspect says the soldier was arrested following Police investigation into the incident of a young man captured on video footage firing several shots of a firearm at A&C Mall, purportedly, to welcome the New Year, 2022.
According to the statement released on Monday, January 3, 2022, Flt. Sergeant Owusu Frimpong, has been “detained by the Military Police while investigations continues”.
The Police, has however, cautioned the public to be guided in their celebrations and desist from acts that compromise public safety and order.
