Government has announced the extension of the free water package to all Ghanaians to December 31, 2020. The Water and Sanitation Ministry, representing the government, made the announcement in a statement it released on Wednesday, September 23, 2020.
The package which is an initiative by government in the wake of COVID-19 was expected to end on September 30, 2020 but upon a review of the situation, had to extend it to cover the last quarter of the year.
This, the Ministry of Water and Sanitation noted, is to enable Ghanaians continue with the hand washing protocol in the combat of the deadly virus.
The statement further urged Ghanaians to be judicious in the usage of water.
