Akufo-Addo pardons Abuga Pele

The former Member of Parliament for Chiana/Paga, Abuga Pele, has received a presidential pardon.

The pardon granted by the President, Akufo-Addo, was based on the health condition of the former Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA) boss, politicoghana.com understands.

Last month, Abuga Pele was taken ill at the Nsawam Maximum Security Prison and was rushed to the Greater Accra Regional Hospital for treatment.

He was admitted at the High Dependency Unit (HDU) of the hospital but has since been discharged.

Pele was sentenced to a six-year jail term by an Accra High Court in 2018 for causing financial loss to the State while serving as the National Coordinator of then Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA).
