The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has urged both members and sympathizers of the party to endeavor to wear the face mask at all times in compliance with the COVID-19 Safety protocols in order to avoid contracting the coronavirus.
A statement released by the party signed by its National Chairman, Freddie Blay, said in view of the gradual rise in the number of new cases from an average of 25 new cases per day to an average 130 cases per day, and considering the fact that the President has reaffirmed the steps that have saved the country well so far, it is imperative that all the COVID-19 safety protocols are adhered to.
To that effect, he has directed all the rank and file of the party to strictly adhere to all the COVID-19 safety protocols in the conduct of all party and campaign related activities.
“The party entreats organizers of party events to make provisions for thermometer guns, veronica buckets and hand sanitizers at all times during party programmes. Leadership of the party at various levels must also ensure strict adherence to the social distancing protocols and must make the wearing of facemasks mandatory for all members and at all times during party gatherings”, the statement in part read.
The party however, commended the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and government on their commitment to fighting the novel Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), result of which is shown in the Ghanaian success story which has been recognized around the world as Ghana placed 3rd of successful countries in the fight against the virus.
