Two suspected armed robbers have been gunned down by the Obuasi Police Divisional Patrol Team at Obuasi Akomfokrom near mile 9.
This follows their engagement with the police in a fierce gun battle in the evening of Wednesday, March 10, 2021.
A third suspect is said to be on the run.
Briefing journalists on the matter, the Public Relations Officer of the Ashanti Regional Police Command, Godwin Ahianoyor, said items such as one AK 47 rifle with five empty shells, a locally manufactured gun among others were retrieved from the fallen suspected armed robbers.
He said investigations into the case have commenced with the suspects expected to be arraigned before court soon.
