Sack Ofori-Atta, Adu Boahen or face our wrath – NPP MPs tell Akufo-Addo

Some Members of Parliament (MPs) belonging to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have sent an SoS message to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to with immediate effect, dismiss the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta from his government.

That of the Minister of State in charge of Finance at the Office of the President, Charles Adu Boahen, should not be spare either.

They are of the firm belief that the immediate dismissal of the duo will restore confidence in the economy, and also bring some respite to the business community many of whom have either folded up or are on the verge of folding up because of the poor management style of Mr. Ofori-Atta.

Failure to heed their call, they noted, will result in unpalatable actions including boycotting all Government Business on and outside the floor of Parliament.

Of utmost importance to the group who are mostly back and middle benchers, is to refrain from participating in the upcoming 2023 Budget presentation and its subsequent debate.

The Spokesperson for the group and MP for Asante Akim North, Andy Appiah-Kubi, addressing the media on the sidelines of a Parliamentary sitting on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, said they are determined to carry their actions through until the President acts on their demand.

“The majority have expressed great concern about our economy and our attempts at reaching out to the President through his Ministers have failed. We are by this, serving notice and indeed, notice is being served now that if the President fails to act, we will not do business with him”, he noted.
