After months of speculation, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has selected the Minister of Energy and Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as Napo, as his running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Dr. Bawumia presented Dr. Prempeh’s name to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House last night.
Joy FM, which broke the news on Wednesday afternoon, reported that President Akufo-Addo offered advice and shared his thoughts before accepting Dr. Bawumia’s choice.
Dr. Prempeh, 56, is a medical doctor who graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
He is currently leading a team of energy experts at the 2024 Africa Energy Forum (AEF) in Barcelona, Spain, showcasing initiatives to build a resilient energy sector and attract investments.
