IGP slaps GH₵20,000 bounty on killers of Mfansteman MP

Anyone who will volunteer to give credible information to the Police that will lead to the arrest of the killers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Mfantseman Constituency, Hon. Ekow Quansah Hayford, will be rewarded with a GH₵20,000 cash from the Inspector General of Police (IGP), a statement by the Ghana Police Service has said.

The statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs, Police Service, Sheila Abayie Buckman further noted that, the IGP has dispatched specialized investigators from the Homicide and Anti-armed robbery units of the CID Headquarters to support the Central Region’s Crime Scene Team to solve the alleged robbery incident and murder of the MP.

Hon. Hayford, according to local sources, was returning from a campaign trip with some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) when they were ambushed by the unidentified gunmen at Nkusum on the Mankessim-Abeadze Duadze road on Friday, October 9, 2020, around 1:00 am and in the process, shot dead.

His body has since been deposited at the Saltpond Hospital Mortuary.
