Fuel margins reduced to 9 pesewas per litre

The Government of Ghana has announced a reduction in fuel margins from 17 pesewas per litre to 9 pesewas.

This was done through the Ministry of Energy following a meeting held earlier in Tuesday, May 4, 2021, between the Minister of Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Association of Oil Marketing Companies (AOMCs), Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC), and the Institute for Energy Policies and Research (INSTEPR) at the Ministry of Energy in Accra.

The announcement was spurred by a request by Dr. Prempeh for a round table discussion to revise certain components on the price build up.

The changes in the fuel margins takes effect on Wednesday, May 5, 2021.
