Akufo-Addo dissolves statutory Boards

The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has dissolved all statutory boards and corporations.

A letter signed and released by the Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Opare-Osei on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, said “Pursuant to Section 14 (1) of the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845), all persons appointed by the President or a Member of State as members of statutory and corporations ceased to hold that office on 7th January, 2021”.

Representatives from constituent bodies on the statutory boards and corporations are, however, not affected by this directive.

According to the statement, the statutory boards and corporations shall be reconstituted by the President or the relevant appointing authority in due course.
