Former President Jerry John Rawlings has served to government to immediately shift its focus on protecting the country’s coastal lands or risk incurring his wrath.
To Mr. Rawlings, failure by government to swiftly move in to protect lands along the coast will see him picket in Parliament to register home his displeasure.
According to Mr. Rawlings, the rate at which lands along the coast are fast depleting is worrying, a situation he noted, if not averted, will have rippling effects on lives and properties.
“If it has to take me to protest in Parliament with a placard with the inscription give us some more groins to ensure lands along the coast are protected, I will do it”, he cautioned, urging government to immediately extend the sea defence project from Keta to Aflao to save lives.
The former Ghanaian leader made this observation this observation when a delegation from Parliament led by the Speaker, Prof. Aaron Michael Oquaye called on him at his Ridge residence to commiserate with him and his family on the demise of his mother.
