Dan Botwe admitted at UGMC; awaits results of COVID-19 test

The Minister for Regional-reorganisation and Development, Dan Botwe, has been admitted at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) after falling sick.

Botwe who is also the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Okere Constituency in the Eastern Region has been out of the public space for some time now following his recent endorsement by party delegates to represent them a fourth time in the legislature.

Reports were rife that has tested positive for the novel coronavirus and had isolated himself.

However, a statement signed by the lawmaker and released in Accra on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, said he has been “feeling unwell earlier this week” and as a result in “currently on admission at the University of Ghana Medical Centre”.

“I have undertaken several tests for COVID-19 and awaits results. I will endevour to inform the general public about my results when I am informed of it”, he noted in the statement.
