Akufo-Addo is King Cyrus of our time – Koku Anyidoho

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Atta-Mills Memorial Institute, Koku Anyidoho, is full of admiration for the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, describing him King Cyrus for defying all odds and coming to his aid to reconstruct the Asomdwee Park where the mortal remains of the fifth President of the Fourth Republic is laid.

Anyidoho had made a passionate appeal to President Akufo-Addo to help reconstruct the Asomdwee Park after his own political party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) abandoned the facility and left it at the mercy of the weather during their time in office.

A promise was made by the President Akufo-Addo through the Coastal Development Authority (CDA) to give the Asomdwee Park a face-lift.

Interacting with Accra-based Okay FM on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, the former deputy General Secretary of the NDC revealed that the Akufo-Addo-led government has given clearance for work to commence on the site.

Anyidoho, who at a point became emotional during the interview, heaped praises on President Akufo-Addo for honouring his promise.

He told listeners of the radio station that just as his team went to Mr. Jerry John Rawlings, a former President of the land, on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 and showed appreciation to him for supporting their course, they will also go to the Flagstaff House, the seat of government, and officially, express their appreciation to President Akufo-Addo for the gesture.

President Akufo-Addo through the Coastal Development Authority cut the sod for the construction of Asomdwee Park to its original architectural design of 2012. The design was made in 2012. I can’t tell why the facility couldn’t be constructed in 2012. But it is under the tenure of Nana Akufo-Addo and under the able leadership of my brother, Jerry Shaib Ahmed, the CODA CEO – they have released the clearance letter that the contractor should go and start work on the Asomdwee Park to its original architectural design. Just like how the Atta-Mills Institute went to thank President Jerry Rawlings for his support, in due time when the Chief of Staff, Mama Frema Opare-Osei and those at the Presidency give clearance for us to come, I Samuel Koku Anyidoho, Founder and CEO of Atta-Mills Institute, will lead my team to go to the Flagstaff House to go and thank President Akufo-Addo for allowing his government to construct the Asomdwee Park. I’ve prayed; I’ve fasted; I’ve cried – the Lord has heard my prayers and I will thank President Akufo-Addo for allowing Asomdwee Park to be constructed so that God’s name will be glorified”, he noted.

“He added “The deep partisan thing is not helping anybody. Ghana has been working on one leg since independence because of that partisan division. President Akufo-Addo, if you are the Cyrus who’s given the go ahead for the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem, I like Daniel, Meshach and Abednego, I thank you. Cyrus was not a Jew but God brought him in His time for Cyrus to allow the temple in Jerusalem to be reconstructed so that the God of Daniel; the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, will be glorified. Nana Akufo-Addo as far as I am concerned is the Cyrus that I’m looking at. He’s constructing the Asomdwee Park at least Atta-Mills Institute. Koku Anyidoho, Andy Kankam, Adolf Boateng, Clarence Acolatse, Edem Bebli and co, we shall be like Daniel, Meshach and Abednego, we shall thank King Cyrus Akufo-Addo for rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem which is the Asomdwee Park”.
