Akufo-Addo directs MMDCEs to monitor and submit weekly report on ongoing voters registration exercise

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has sent a note to all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), directing them to monitor the ongoing voter’s registration exercise in their respective localities to ensure a successful exercise.

They are also required to submit weekly reports in the constituency (ies) in their Assemblies to their Regional Ministers for onward submission electronically to the Office of the Chief of Staff.

The directive, according to the note addressed to all Regional Ministers and MMDCEs dated July 1, 2020 and signed by the Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, takes immediate effect.

“You are hereby directed by the President of the Republic with immediate effect to effectively monitor the ongoing voter’s registration exercise in your respective jurisdictions to ensure a successful exercise”, the note which was copied to the secretaries to the President and the Vice-President as well as the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development in part read.

According to the directive, the reports of the MMDCEs should be received by the following dates”

  1. Week One – July 7, 2020
  2. Week Two – July 14, 2020
  • Week Three – July 21, 2020
  1. Week Four – July 28, 2020
  2. Week Five – August 7, 2020.
