18 dismissed from NDC

The National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expelled eighteen (18) of its members who are contesting the December 7 parliamentary elections as independent candidates from the party.

They are Valis Akyianu, Cape Coast North constituency, Lawyer Ismael Turkson, Agona West constituency, Emmanuel Gadgo Gum, Upper Denkyira West constituency, Auegabey S. Gibson Achavuusum, Builsa North constituency, Dominic Azumah, Garu constituency, Akunye Simon, Pusiga constituency and Isaac Newton Nyagbe, Kpando constituency.

The rest are Iddrisu Alhassan, Savelugu constituency, Wajanjaliku Elijah, Mion constituency, David Tiki Dange, Damongo constituency, Abraham Nbido, Salaga South constituency, Dr. Bonja Ismael Anchonese, Krachi Nchumuru constituency and Saandong Mwinban-Era Fatawu, Nadowli/Kaleo constituency.

Others are Owusu Ansah Emmanuel, Bodi constituency, Kwasi Agyeman Gyan-Tutu, Tain constituency, Kwadwo Yame Datiakwa, Kintampo South constituency, Richard Angmor Nartey, Ningo Prampram constituency and Alpha Yussif, Kpone Katamanso constituency.

The party in statement dated November 3, 2020, and signed by its General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, said the eighteen members “who sought for and obtained nomination from the Electoral Commission to contest the upcoming parliamentary election as independent candidates have forfeited their membership of the party”.

The dismissed party members have then been directed to handover all party property in their possession to their respective constituency secretariats, further instructing them all to cease forthwith in using NDC paraphernalia and the name of the flag bearer, John Dramani Mahama, in all their campaigns.

“It also be noted that all the party members who endorsed your nomination form, campaigned for you or who openly associate themselves with your campaign activities are equally in breach of the above provisions and therefore, suffer the same punishment as the independent candidates”, the statement in part emphasized.
